In two recent international film festivals PFClean helped users win major awards. We would like to congratulate both Gigapix FX and Amazing Studios for their work on these projects.

At Sundance the World Cinema Audience Award: Dramatic was given to the Jordanian film Captain Abu Raed, directed by Amin Matalqa. The first feature film to come out of Jordan in 50 years, Captain Abu Raed tells the story of an aging airport janitor who is mistaken for an airline pilot by a group of poor neighborhood children and whose fantastical stories offer hope for a sad, sometimes unchangeable, reality. Even though it was shot digitally Gigapix FX used PFClean for image repair on the project.
Shooting in the Jordanian desert, was not without its problems the CCD block heated up started to spit out spurious data. "There were about 1000 frames of it, and it was in the middle of shots that we couldn’t do again,” Technical supervisor Clark Graff explained. He started to talk to a friend at PixelFarm about PFClean, and wondered if it could fix the problem. “Urban Olsson, the assistant technical director, soon learned the software and it was amazing — it was frightening how good it worked".
