Hi! Just wondering if it is possible to combine a clip input with a photo input? :)
I know I can select frames from the clip input and kinda transform it to stills but is it possible to combine? The clip input has a lot of good data but lacks some details. The photos have a lot of details but I didn't have time to take so many
Hi Jonas
Thats a great question. Unfortunately it’s not possible to use PFTrack to combine your datasets in the way you would like. Generating a single point cloud from both photos and moving cameras that don't always provide the same image quality is a tricky problem.
If you want to use both resulting datasets outside of matching your camera, you could generate a point cloud / mesh from both separately and then combine and align them manually later on in another application such as meshmixer.
You also have the option of using the Match Camera node to match the movie clip to the photo survey afterwards. It’s not combining them into a single Photo Survey but is still be a useful workflow for many users.
We’d be interested to know, does anyone else miss tools like these in PFTrack, or know of other software that can do as Jonas is requesting?
